"Paths oh Hope"

Cardinal Văn Thuận “is a model pastor who made every effort to promote the integral human development of his people in the light of the Gospel.” These were the words of the Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, H. Em. Card. M. Czerny, S.J., recalling the figure of Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyên Văn Thuận, in his videomessage to the Meeting  "The Second Cardinal Văn Thuận Forum", promoted in Cologne by the Foundation “Hoffnungswege” of the Cellitine Sisters, last 20 September, on the occasion of the 23rd Anniversary of his death.

The former President of the Pontifical Council “Justice and Peace,” Cardinal Văn Thuận died 16 September 2002, in Rome.
